A few days back, a conversation with an elderly acquaintance got me thinking about something, that I do not really like to think about these days - God!
Our discussion started with dead bodies of people, or saints – who do not decompose! Now, I have seen two such bodies so far – one in Goa, and another one in Sacile. I do realise that stuff like this quite bewildering to many, but I have never bothered to give it any thought. Anyhow, our conversation continued and we ended up discussing about the monuments that have been built to honour some of the saints. And that is when I mentioned to him about me having visited a few of them.
The next day, I was browsing through some of the old photographs on my computer and I ended up staring at a picture – of St. Mark’s Tomb. I paused briefly, before I continued with my random search for nothing. A little later, I stopped when I stumbled upon another picture – this one of St. Luke’s Tomb.
And that is when it struck me!
If these tombs exist, it means that they existed too! And they were Jesus’ disciples! So it means Jesus must have existed too, right?!
And I had always thought that the Bible was one big story book!
Oh crap!
In a way, I kind of felt a little dumb to have taken so much time to figure this out!
PS: In case you think that this little discovery has made me all religious – hopes you have!
I shared this with a friend and he gave me the most logical explanation ever – it only means that there was a man named Jesus, and that is about all there is to it!
Duh! I think I already mentioned that I felt dumb, right?!
